© 2019 Bru's Bows

This bow is named after our special friend, Lola (@lola.pop.sf). Her mom suggested we make a waterproof bow for all the swimmer and surfer dogs out there so we got some waterproof fabric to test it out!

Bow Maid picked this print because of its cultural significance. Often called Hakka Floral Fabric or Taiwan Floral Cloth, the first version of this type of print was produced in the 1960's in Taiwan and soon became ubiquitous in household items and clothing. The print usually featured peonies, a symbol of prosperity, set against a vibrant red or sky blue background. After the 1970's the fabric fell out of fashion and was considered to be "grandma's cloth" but in the early 2000's, it experienced a revival as Taiwanese designers and artists started to explore Taiwan's cultural identity.

  • Although the bow is waterproof, it's still not machine washable. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

Each bow tie is handmade and should be sturdy enough to withstand daily doggo wear and tear (aside from chewing). However, for safety reasons, please remove if your pup will be playing/wrestling with other pups (or animals)!

  • Collar Attachment

The bow ties attach to your dog’s collar by a strip a Velcro. For sizes small and medium, the Velcro is pre-cut to fit a 2cm high collar. For size large, the Velcro is pre-cut to fit a 3cm collar. If your dog’s collar is smaller than the pre-cut dimensions, you can customize by cutting the Velcro to your desired height. If your dog’s collar is bigger than the pre-cut dimensions, please send us a note and we’ll make sure to include enough length to fit!
